Software & Data Engineer
Working remotely from Costa Rica · UTC−6, overlapping North American business hours
I'm Joshua Bolaños, a software and data engineer based in Costa Rica. I help companies turn ideas into digital products they can rely on: web and mobile apps, custom systems, process automation and data dashboards that make decisions easier.
Websites, platforms and apps for desktop, tablet and phone — from what your users see to the data behind it. Built to grow with your business without stopping what already works. I can use AI inside a controlled process, or work without it if your company requires.
I turn your company's data into KPIs and visual dashboards that show what's actually happening and support your decisions. I work mainly with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
I remove repetitive manual work so your team can focus on what matters. For example, I've automated code quality reviews that run on their own before every release and check compliance with the ISO/IEC 25000 software quality standards — with no manual step.
I test software systematically, both manually and automatically, to catch problems before your users do.
I don't disappear after launch. You get 30 days of warranty to fix bugs at no cost, then you can choose a monthly plan (security updates, monitoring, backups and improvements) or a bank of hours for one-off changes.
The tools I work with day to day.
Tell me what you need and I'll get back to you within 24 hours.
